Using white turnip, onion and tomato, which are rich in fibre, vitamins and minerals, you can prepare a delicious kurma. Adding yoghurt, gives the required protein too. You can make it more flavourful by adding lemon juice, black pepper and coriander leaves, all a good source of vital vitamin and minerals.

1 turnip , ½ onion, ½ tomato, 1 tsp lemon juice, 2-3 sprigs of coriander, ¼ tsp black pepper crushed, ½ cup yoghurt, 1 tsp oil, salt as per taste
1. In a vessel, add 1 tsp oil. Saute finely chopped onion for 2 mins. Add finely chopped turnip. Cover and cook on medium flame till turnip turns tender.
2. Add finely chopped tomato and lemon juice. Mix well.
3. In a bowl, take yoghurt and stir it well. Add crushed black pepper and salt.
4. On a low flame, pour the beaten curd in the vessel where turnip is being cooked and cook for 2 mins. Switch off the gas.
5. Garnish the kurma with finely chopped coriander leaves.
Yummy and nutritious white turnip kurma is ready.
