These jam pastries can be a great dessert after the meal for you and your kid. They are sweet in taste, easy to prepare, and contain proteins and healthy carbs.

Ingredients to make Jam Pastries:

For the dough: ½ cup milk, 1¼ cup water, ¼ cup sugar, 1 egg, 2.5 cup of all purpose flour, 1.5 tsp instant yeast, 2 sticks of salted butter cubed

For the filling: 1 cup fruit jam

For glazing: 1 egg yolk, 2 tsp cream, some sugar

Steps to make Jam Pastries:

1. Take a bowl and add milk, water and sugar and whisk them well.

2. Add the egg yolk and whisk well together.

3. Take another bowl and whisk flour and yeast well. Add butter to it and whisk well again.

4. Now add liquid mixture of milk, water and sugar to the flour and yeast mixture and again mix well till you get a smooth dough.

5. Now place the dough in a bowl, cover it with a plastic wrap and refrigerate it for an hour.

6. Take out the dough after an hour and roll the dough into a ½ inch thick circle.

7. Cut 3 inch circles out of this dough and brush the outside with egg wash.

8. Place 1 tsp of jam in the center of the circle.

9. From the remaining dough, cut 3 strips of dough and lay them in criss cross shape on the top of the jam.

10. Brush egg wash on it and sprinkle some sugar on these circles.

11. Bake for 15 minutes till they turn golden brown.

Let them cool down and then savor the flavor.
