A perfect evening snack, idli dumplings can be made using rice which has carbohydrates and urad dal which has protein. Flavouring this snack with onion and turmeric powder, adds little sweet to this tasty snack and makes it more yummy!

Contents
1 cup rice, ½ cup urad dal, 1 tbsp yoghurt, ¼ tsp turmeric powder, 1 onion, 2 tsp oil(shallow fry)/oil for deep fry
1. Wash and soak the rice and urad dal separately for 3-4 hours
2. Grind rice and urad dal separately. Once grinded, mix both the batters into one.
3. To the ground batter add yoghurt, turmeric powder and finely chopped onion. Ensure the batter is thick.
4. Grease an appam pan which has small moulds and pour the batter in the moulds. Cover and shallow fry. Flip one dumpling when turned brown. Alternately, you can take small balls of the batter and deep fry in oil.
Crisp hot and tasty idli dumplings are ready. Enjoy this yummy snack.
