Haladi Pitha is an exclusive recipe with an extraordinary taste, and the best thing is it is very easy to make. It is a sweet and stuffed idli rich in proteins and carbohydrates. The recipe has a traditional significance in Odisha.

3 cups rice, 1 cup urad dal, 2 tbsp sugar, salt to taste, 1 cup grated coconut, 1 cup jaggery, turmeric leaves
1. Rinse and soak rice and dal for about 3-4 hours.
2. Grind them to a fine paste and keep aside.
3. Heat a pan add jaggery to it. When it starts melting down, add shredded coconut and mix well. Cook till it forms a lumpy mass.
4. Add sugar and salt to the batter.
5. Take turmeric leaf, spread some batter on it. Top it with coconut jaggery mixture and fold the leaf.
6. Cook them in the idli stand till done.
Serve hot.
