Mullu Thenkuzhal, commonly known as chakli, is a Tamilian snack and is made with rice flour, moong and chana dal. Rice flour offers dietary fibre, while the dals are loaded with essential nutrients including copper, zinc, magnesium, calcium and protein. This makes mullu thenkuzhal the perfect healthy snack.

Ingredients:3 to 4 cups of rice flour, one cup each of chana and moong dal, two tablespoons of butter, ½ teaspoon of chilli powder, a pinch of white sesame seeds, salt to taste, a pinch of hing, oil to deep fry.
Steps:
1. Roast the dal in a tawa and let it cool for some time. Once it has cooled, grind it into a fine powder in a mixer.
2. Mix this flour with rice flour and prepare a batter. Add all the ingredients into this batter and mix well.
3. Heat oil in a deep bottom vessel and pour the batter into the oil using a murukku presser.
