Corn pakodas are a healthy snack as they are made using maize or corn, which is a rich source of potassium, carbohydrate, protein, iron, Vitamin B6 and magnesium. Here’s how you can make corn pakodas at home,

Ingredients: 1 ½ cups of corn kernels, 1 ½ cups of besan, 2-3 spring onions chopped, ½ inch ginger chopped, ¼ tsp red chilli powder, ¼ tsp turmeric powder, ¼ tsp garam masala powder, a pinch of hing, ¼ tsp crushed black pepper, ¼ tsp fennel powder, salt, water, chaat masala, oil.
Steps:
1. Put the corn kernels in a bowl and mix all the ingredients in it, except the oil. Add water and mix to prepare a batter of medium consistency.
2. Heat oil in a kadhai and drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and deep fry the pakoras till they are golden and crisp.
3. Scoop out the pakoras from the oil and drain the excess oil.
4. Serve with a tangy chutney or tomato ketchup.
You can also sprinkle some chaat masala on the pakodas before you serve them. Corn kernels are readily available in the market and you can easily prepare these pakodas at home for snack time.
