Bengal Style Malabar Spinach is an excellent dish from Bengal made from healthy malabar spinach. It’s very flavourful with the addition of five spices powder. You can try it if you are looking for a new side dish for rotis.

    Ingredients to make Bengal Style Malabar Spinach:

    1 bunch Malabar spinach finely chopped, 2 boiled potatoes cubed, 1 tsp roasted five spices powder, 1 tsp ginger paste, 1 tsp garlic paste, 1 tablespoon onion paste, 1 tsp red chill paste, 1 slit green chili, 1 tsp turmeric powder, mustard oil, 1 red chili, 1 cup chopped tomatoes, salt to taste

    Steps to make Bengali Style Malabar Spinach:

    1. Rinse the spinach well.

    2. In a skillet, add mustard oil, add the onion, ginger, garlic and chili paste, and stir well till the raw smell goes away.

    3. Add chopped tomatoes.

    4. Add the five spices powder. Stir well.

    5. Add spinach leaves and cook till leaves wilt . alternatively you can cook spinach in cooker and add.

    6. Add chopped potatoes.

    Stir well. Serve hot.
